Racing Conditions For Manitoba Great Western Stake 2022
1. All events will be conducted under the rules and regulations of the Manitoba Horse Racing Commission unless otherwise specified in the following conditions. Racetrack rules and regulations of the M.G.W.H.R.C must be met a the respective racetracks.
2. All races at one mile - one dash
3. Nomination Payment - Yearlings - $10.00 due May 15th
Sustaining Payment - 2 Year Olds - $ 15.00 due May 15th
Sustaining Payment - 3 Year Olds - $20.00 due May 15th
Final Payment - 1% or $ 100.00 whichever is greater due 15 days prior to race
4. Declaration To Start - To be made to the Secretary-Treasurer of the M.G.W. Stake ( Mrs. Sherri Mason), close 12:00 noon on the Sunday prior to the weekend on which the Stake is scheduled.
5. Purse Distribution: 50%, 25%,12%, 8%, 5%. Eliminations will go for 60% of the purse and the final will go for 40% of the purse. In eliminations, in the case of a smaller field monies will be added to the final (ie: 4 horse field, 5th money will be added to the final.) In finals, if less than 5 horses are deemed to have started, the remaining premium(s) shall go to the race winner.
6. If eliminations are postponed to a different date than originally specified, the original draw for post positions and eliminations will remain in effect for the newly rescheduled date. The same regulations will apply to finals. Should any unforeseeable condition prevent the racing of an event, monies paid will be refunded. Otherwise, all monies paid for eligible horses are non-refundable.
7. Entries must have a satisfactory race or a satisfactory qualifying line to a minimum of M.G.W.H.R.C. qualifying times and not be on a Judges or Vets list at the date and time of declaration in order to start. No refund shall be made of any moneys paid for a horse failing to qualify within the time limited.
8. Post positions for all eliminations will be drawn by lot. Post positions for finals will be drawn by lot to determine which of the elimination winners shall have the pole, which the second position etc., which of the horses which were second shall start in which of the subsequent positions, etc.
Example - With TWO elimination heats, winners draw by lot for the pole and 2nd
position, second place finishers for the 3rd and 4th positions etc. With TWO eliminations on the M.G.W.H.R.C., 4th place finishers draw by lot for the 7th & 8th position which may be trailing positions.
With THREE eliminations, winners will be drawn by lot for the pole, 2nd and 3rd
positions, second place finishers for the 4th, 5th and 6th positions, and the third place finishers for the 7th, 8th and 9th positions, the 9th position being a trailing position. In the event of TWO eliminations, the first FOUR in the official order of finish of each elimination will race in the final. Fifth place finishers in the official order of finish will be also eligible, determined by lot. If THREE eliminations, the first three in the official order of finish will race in the final. In the case of a dead heat, from the eligible horses to advance to the final, the dead heat horses will be drawn separately by lot to determine advancement to the final. Two also eligibles will be selected by lot from the official 4th place finishers. This rule applicable to tracks that can accommodate 8 horses on the starting gate. Tracks that can accomodate 6 horses
wide, two trailers will draw by lot for positions 7 and 8, with the 9th horse being also eligible. All winners start on starting gate with a maximum of 6 heats.
9. The Manitoba Great Western Stake can only be purchased by a Manitoba Great Western member track.
10. The Manitoba Great Western Stake will hold the eliminations and final on the same race day.
11. Recommendation for rain out of M.G.W.H.R.C : In case of rain out, the Stake reverts to the M.G.W.H.R.C Stake. Trustees to determine host Agricultural Society on the M.G.W.H.R.C, with additional purse money being paid by the M.G.W.H.R.C Stake.
12. Any questions as to the horses eligibility will be directed to the M.G.W.H.R.C Stake Trustees. After consultation with the M.G.W.H.R.C. Stake Trustees, the final decision will be made by the Judges.
