Eligibility:

For 2 and 3 year-old pacing colts, geldings and fillies whose certificate of registration indicates place of foaling to be New Brunswick and whose dam was owned at the time of foaling by a resident of NB.(RESIDENT: A resident of NB is a person whose primary residence is in NB or one who operates a farm resident to standardbred broodmares, such residency verifiable by such tangible evidence as Property Tax payment, employees, mares on sire etc.); or who’s owner is a NB resident and the foal was born outside of NB. Such horses will pay a levy to be eligible (non NB foaled)

For foals of 2018, 2019, and 2020:

NB FOALED. Foals must be born in NB. Mares must provide proof of residency for 183 days within NB in foaling year and be owned at the time of foaling by a resident of NB. OR, non NB foaled that are 100% NB owned and have been trained 100% of the time in NB. Copies of training bills, veterinary bills may be required to prove this.

Conditions:

AUTHORITY: Rules of the Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission (APHRC) and Standardbred Canada (SC) apply.
TO BE RACED AT: Exhibition Park Raceway and Woodstock Raceway or a track designated by HRNB with approval from APHRC
FORMAT: Separation of colts/geldings and fillies. There will be a maximum of 2 trailers permitted for the purpose of this stake. In the event less than 3 fillies sex are nominated, those horses will be added to the other group to constitute full fields. In the event of less than 3 fillies declare in, $3000.00 from the total stake pool will be separated utilized as bonus monies; the top placed finisher in the final of the three horses will receive $2000 bonus. $1000 will be paid to the next highest finisher. In the event only one qualifies for the final, $2000 will be awarded to that horse. In the event none qualify for the final, $3000 will be split evenly and distributed to the three horses.
For example: If 3 fillies declare in the 2 yr old events. Those fillies would race the colts in preliminary legs. In the event none qualify for the final, $3000 is split equally, $1000 per filly. In the event one qualifies, that horse is automatically awarded $2000 bonus; remaining $1000 is split amongst other two horses. In the event all three qualify for final, highest finisher gets $2000, next highest $1000.
BREEDERS REWARDS: 4% of total purse for each event will be withheld for breeders rewards. Top five finishers will have breeders paid 50%, 25%, 12%, 8%, 5% of the breeders reward monies. In the event of less than five starters, distribution will follow purse allocation as listed below. All rewards will be tabulated and paid out after the finals for each season.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. For the purpose of this program, NB foaled shall be defined as: A foal whose place of birth on the applicable Standardbred Canada/USTA registration certificate is indicated to be New Brunswick. NB bred is defined as a foal by a stallion registered with NBSBOA and having paid $500 registration fee. Non NB foaled are foals born outside of NB but are 100% NB owned from time of nomination throughout series and 100% trained in NB from nomination throughout entire series. No exceptions.
2. Each event is to be contested at a distance of one mile (1609 m).
3. Purse distribution for five or more finishers is 50%, 25%, 12%, 8%, 5%. In the event of 4 starters, 50%, 25%, 15%, 10%. In the event of 3 starters 55%, 30% 15%.
4. All nominating, sustaining and starting fees shall be added to the purses with no deduction for clerical or managerial work, advertising or publicity.
5. Horse Racing New Brunswick, within its sole discretion, may from time to time make changes to the terms, conditions, and/or to the purse structure of this stake of any kind whatsoever, including added money, as well as nomination and sustaining payments and starting fees and the nominator agrees to be bound by such changes.
6. Should conditions beyond the control of HRNB prevent the racing of any event, HRNB reserves the right to declare off any event and distribute the money to the current eligible horses, or to transfer the event to another date, or to another track, or to do both.
7. Standardbred Canada and HRNB assume no responsibility for nominations or payments made by mail which are not received. Sending payments by Registered Mail is recommended. All payments must be post-marked no later than the said due date.
8. In the event that an explicit interpretation of these conditions might not be acceptable to all parties, the Board of Directors of HRNB reserves the right to interpret these conditions in an implicit manner in accordance with the goals and objectives of the organization as may be established and amended from time to time.
9. NBSBOA Inc and HRNB are not liable and assume no responsibility for loss by fire, theft or accident of or to persons, animals, equipment or vehicles on the premises owned or leased or controlled by said Horse Racing New Brunswick Inc or its successor. Use of grounds, track, or buildings thereon, owned, leased or controlled by Horse Racing New Brunswick Inc or its successor shall be at the risk of the owners or persons, and is assumed in full by any of them on their own behalf and/or behalf of their servants, agents, or employees.
10. HRNB Board of Directors or executive committee will meet and based on the total purse pool available set the purse amounts for each leg of the series.
11. There will be no starting fees for finals. Top 8 colts/geldings and top 8 fillies will be determined by top 8 point getters based on 50-25-12-8-5 for finishes 1-5 preliminary legs. First tie breaker in the event of a tie on points will be money earned. Second tie breaker will be most number of wins in the series legs advancing to final. If still tied, drawn by lot by an APHRC commission Judge.
Notice: Reference date for payments in these conditions are post-mark dates, if any of the described dates fall on a weekend or holiday, post-mark can be no later than the next business day following. Standardbred Canada will forward on your behalf all such fees received on behalf of this stake and a list outlining each nominator, their current address, name of foal, sire, dam, age and colour. Use of information is outlined in the NBSBOA Inc. Privacy Policy, which may be requested from the Privacy Officer Jeffrey Lewis or his successor.
