In a continued effort to provide the highest quality racing experience for racing fans, Hoosier Park Racing & Casino proudly debuted Trakus, a state-of-the art wireless tracking system that enables racings fans to more easily follow their horse instantaneously throughout a race, on Tuesday evening.
With the launch of this revolutionary system, Hoosier Park became the only Standardbred track in North America using the Trakus system.
This ground-breaking technology is a real-time tracking system capable of automating and enhancing the collection, organization, storage and visual presentation of horse positioning data from all of the races hosted at the Anderson track.
Along with the Trakus debut, the evening’s 14-race card was highlighted by the $30,000 Indiana Gold Sire Stakes action for two-year-old pacing colts and fillies, as well as one $30,000 division for three-year-old pacing fillies. Next Thing Smoke N and Tyler Smith stole the show with their 1:53 track record performance for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings in their split of the sire stakes action. Using a sharp front running effort, Next Thing Smoke N notched his second win of the season for owner, trainer Roger Cullipher. The 1:53 victory marks the fourteenth track record that has been lowered over Hoosier Park’s seven-eighths mile oval in 2013.
“It was a great night all the way around,” Hoosier Park’s vice president and general manager of racing Rick Moore noted. “Hoosier Park could not be more pleased to announce the introduction of Trakus for our racing fans viewing and enjoyment and I think racing fans really liked what they saw tonight. Whether a seasoned veteran or a novice when it comes to horse racing, Trakus will heighten the excitement of our video presentation.”
Already in place at such major Thoroughbred venues as Churchill Downs, Keeneland and Del Mar, Trakus gives serious handicappers an added edge when evaluating horses’ racing styles and progress. Serious handicappers now have access to a variety of new resources, including exclusive speed and distance measurements all collected via the state-of-the-art Trakus tracking system.
