Reason For I Said Diamonds Scratch

Officials from the Delaware County Fair have issued a statement on the scratch of I Said Diamonds from the 2016 Jugette.

"I Said Diamonds was scratched from today’s Jugette by the Ohio State Racing Commission approved judges," the statement reads. "It was determined that an unlicensed individual was present in a restricted area in violation of detention rules. In the best interest of the race it was decided to withdraw her from the field."

While not named in the statement, multiple reports indicate that the unlicensed individual was trainer Lou Pena, who has no connection to the filly. Trained by Matias Ruiz, I Said Diamonds was a recent purchase by Perry De Luna's A Piece Of The Action LLC of Culver City, California.
