Racing Under Saddle Ontario (RUS Ontario) and Flamboro Downs will present the Flamboro Horse Festival on Saturday, September 20. The race night will feature a 6 p.m. first-race post time and will be an exciting night of racing and equine demonstrations.

The evening will kick off with Theresa Large and Tanya Riddell presenting the Canadian flag for the playing of ‘Oh Canada.’ Other features of the night include a full field of Mini Horse racing the length of the homestretch. Grace Lockwood will parade the under saddle race in a full Elizabethan-era sidesaddle costume, and Starr Boisvert will demonstrate the excitement of reining horses.

Later in the night, two mounted teenagers will chase and rope everyone’s favourite mascots. In addition, there will be driving exhibits from the Heath Family Hackney Ponies. Also, horseman Rheal Bourgeois will drive the Glenn Smith Percheron Reserve Grand Champion Mare.

On the grandstand apron there will be vendors selling crafts, free face painting for the children, as well as a chance to ride a phantom horse at the RUS booth.

Also present will be a farrier demonstration and noted equine photographer Just Ducky Photos. As always, be sure to stop by the ‘I Love Canadian Racing’ booth and check out the newest Fan Club bling.
