Fans of harness racing coming out to Mohawk Racetrack this Saturday will have an opportunity to meet and congratulate James MacDonald, the 2017 World Driving Champion, ahead of the Canadian Pacing Derby card.
MacDonald, 31, recently captured the 2017 World Driving Championship by besting 10 other drives from around the world to take the top prize on home soil.
One of the leading drivers at Mohawk Racetrack, MacDonald became the fourth Canadian driver to capture the World Driving Championship and the first to do so on home soil.
The special autograph session with MacDonald will get underway at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday and will take place on the main level of the Grandstand.
Mohawk has put together a special photo for fans to receive and have autographed by MacDonald. Only a limited number of photos are available, so fans are encouraged to arrive early to get this special collector’s item.
Draw ballots will also be available at the autograph session for fans to win a special poster signed by all of the World Driving Championship participants. Mohawk will be giving away three of the signed posters with the draw taking place later in the evening.
The first 300 fans to Mohawk on Saturday will also receive a free program.
