The official draws took place this morning (Tuesday, August 8) for the two Sobeys Gold Cup & Saucer trials. The trials are the precursor to the 58th edition of Prince Edward Island’s signature race, which will be contested on Saturday, August 19 at Red Shores’ Charlottetown Driving Park.
There are 16 Islanders who are connected to six starters as owners or trainers in the 2017 trials.
The first trial will take place on Saturday, August 12 and the second trial will be contested on Monday, August 14.
