Win A Share In A Racehorse!

Ask any racehorse owner what's the greatest feeling in the world, and whether they are a first-time horse owner with a small share of a horse, or a veteran owner with a large stable of stakes horses, the response will be the same: “seeing your horse cross the finish line first!”

If you’ve dreamed of owning a racehorse, but have never taken the leap into ownership, here’s the contest for you!

Standardbred Canada and the Ontario Sires Stakes are partnering and pleased to announce that the Ontario Sires Stakes (OSS) will sponsor the ‘Win a Share in a Racehorse’ contest for the fourth consecutive year. The contest winner will receive a share in the LandMark 14 Stable ownership group. The share is valued at $2,000 and will include at least one Ontario-sired yearling.

“This is a great opportunity for a racing fan to learn about horse ownership with no risk,” said Karen Allen, Promotions and Industry Development Coordinator for Ontario Racing. “We’ve had great feedback from past winners of the contest and we look forward to introducing another person to the exciting world of harness horse ownership.”

The contest is available to Ontario residents who have never owned a Standardbred before and complete a ballot online on standardbredcanada.ca between September 1 and September 10.

During the week of September 14, 10 entrants will be drawn at random as contest finalists. One OSS Grassroots Championship race will be selected from the race card on October 10 during the OSS Grassroots Championship night at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Each of the 10 finalists will be paired with one of the starters from the selected race. The finalist paired with the winning horse will win the “Win A Share” contest and the share in Landmark 14 Stable, just in time to go horse shopping at the 2020 edition of the London Virtual Yearling Sale on October 18 and 24.

About LandMark
LandMark is a fractional ownership stable that provides an opportunity for people to own multiple Standardbred race horses for a modest investment of $2,000 per share. LandMark 14 will purchase a percentage of several yearlings at this year’s sales and the yearlings will be trained by Ontario based trainers, Mark and Shawn Steacy. Shareholders will receive no bills for the first 12 months.

*Entry is available to any resident of Ontario, 18 years or over, who has never owned a Standardbred, or resided in the same household as someone who owned a Standardbred. Contest is not open to employees or officials of Standardbred Canada, Ontario Racing, OLG, or any Ontario racetrack. Contest is limited to one online ballot entry per person.
