Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is hosting its 2nd annual BBQ Battle on Saturday, September 9 in the Backyard of the Track Grandstand. $2,000 is up for grabs in the Battle with $500 top prizes for the best brisket, chicken, pulled pork and best ribs.
This free event runs from 6-10 p.m. and fans are encouraged to come out for some of the best BBQ in the area. Two lucky fans will win a spot at the Judging Table and help determine the top BBQ in each category.
“We have outstanding BBQ in our area which made this a tremendous event for us last year,” said Meadowlands General Manager and CEO Jason M. Settlemoir. “Plus, it gives us the opportunity to showcase our beautiful facility and live harness racing.”
Area restaurants and professional cooks who think they have the best BBQ in town are invited to register to participate by visiting the sign-up page at www.playmeadowlands.com.
Kimchi Smoke, Bite Back BBQ and Delicious BBQ are all signed up to participate. Registration is limited to the first ten entrants. There is a $100 registration fee that must be paid prior to the start of cooking.
In addition to the BBQ Battle, live harness racing action kicks off at 7:15 pm.
