Standardbred Canada’s Youth Council is coordinating “iBet,” a student-focused promotion featuring a night of giveaways, fun and live racing in cooperation with Mohawk Racetrack on Saturday, August 23.

The “iBet” promotion is targeting youth 18-25 in the hopes of showcasing the sport to a younger generation. “We are encouraging the younger members of our sport to bring a group of friends to host throughout the evening,” said Youth Council member Hannah Beckett. “Our goal is to bring 100 young people to the track and make sure they receive the VIP treatment.”

With great food, prizes and some of the best horses in the country going head to head in various stakes eliminations, the Campbellville oval will welcome the guests for a night they won’t forget!

If you are a racing fan or SC member between the ages of 18-25 and want to bring some of your friends out on this night, email Hannah Beckett at [email protected] to be entered to win a Fan Club prize package.

Guests will receive a VIP racing package that includes a free program, tip sheet, $2 betting voucher and I Love Canadian Harness Racing merchandise. They will also have a chance to win some great prizes including swag, a chance to ride in the starting gate, and the opportunity to make a race presentation.

In addition to some great hands-on experiential giveaways, there will be first come first served paddock tours and behind the scenes tours.

Prior to the card kicking off, drivers will be doing a meet and greet, welcoming guests.

In addition to all the great events taking place throughout the race card, Mohawk plays host to the impressive live racing action with eliminations for major stakes like the Canadian Pacing Derby, the Metro Pace and the She's A Great Lady stakes.

Sounds like a promising initiative to cater to an age group we definitely need to begin appealing to.
Kudos to all involved in setting this up!
