Ohio Sires Stakes At Scioto Friday

Two $50,000 Ohio Sires Stakes for three-year-old trotting fillies that are set to be held on Friday (August 14) at Scioto Downs will determine the field for the $300,000 championships, which are set to be held at the same five-eighths-mile venue on September 5.

On Friday, the undefeated Guinevere Hall will be looking to keep her unblemished 2020 record intact in the first sires stakes division (Race 3), and is set to start from Post 6 for driver Peter Wrenn and trainer Melanie Wrenn. The daughter of Cash Hall is owned by the MT Pockets Stables of Pompano Beach, FL and David McDufee of Delray Beach, FL. A winner of $134,181 in 2019, the bay filly has added an additional $95,900 to her coffers this season, and has triumphed in all three previous sires stakes legs. Bred by Alan J. Leavitt of Kentucky, Guinevere Hall is the seventh foal out of the unraced Lindy Lane mare Garbo Hall and has a half-brother in the Conway Hall gelding Godspell Hall 1:55.4 ($38,301).

Kikimora, a winner of two previous sires stakes legs earlier this season, will start from Post 1 in the same division with Aaron Merriman at the helm for trainer Chris Beaver, who co-owns the daughter of Triumphant Caviar in partnership with breeder Sandra Burnett of Wilmington, Ohio. The speedy bay filly has career earnings of $257,516, with $47,320 of those monies collected this season. Kikimora is the fourth foal out of the Chip Chip Hooray mare Nessa Rose 3, 1:57.1s ($38,829) with half-siblings in Evanora (by Pilgrims Taj) 3, 1:56.3h ($115,348); Ilianora (by Broadway Hall) 3, 1:56.2f ($56,522); and Theodora (by Stormin Normand) 2, 2:01.2h ($16,700).

Thestable Globetrotting’s Globetrotting heads up the second sires stakes division (Race 8) from Post 8 for driver Anthony MacDonald and trainer Jason McGinnis. The Manofmanymissions lass has $193,207 in career earnings and captured her leg-one sires stakes test in 1:55.1, before finishing a rough fifth in leg two and a solid fourth in leg three. Bred by Steiner Stock Farm, Globetrotting is the fifth and most prolific foal out of the Andover Hall mare Celebrity Deville 3, 1:54.3s ($338,744). She is a half-sister to Lima Cadillac (by Yankee Glide) 3, Q1:54.4f ($93,210); Lima Charisma (by Muscle Hill) 3, 1:55.1f ($75,960); and Iwantmytwodollars (by Muscle Hill) 4, 1:57.1h ($47,456), among others.

The other previous sires stakes leg winner in the same division is A Fancy Face, who will start from Post 5 with Chris Page at the controls for trainer Ron Burke. The My MVP lass captured her leg-three sires stakes assignment in 1:54.2 for owners Burke Racing Stable, Hatfield Stables, J&T Silva-Purnel&Libby and Weaver Bruscemi. Bred by Spring Haven Farm, A Fancy Face is the first foal out of the unraced Muscle Massive mare Alliomi, and is a half-sister to the Ohio Sires Stakes winning two-year-old filly A Doll Face (by Dontyouforgetit) 2, 1:59.4h ($33,704).
