More Two-Year-Olds To Pocono

Two-year-old trotting fillies are set to strut their stuff on Tuesday (July 10) at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono, as the track is scheduled to host a quintet of $30,000 PA All-Stars divisions.

Top stakes barns have multiple entries ready. Four fillies will head postward from the stables of Ron Burke, John Butenschoen, and Marcus Melander.

Two of the fillies have already recorded victories in Pennsylvania Sire Stakes action (they recorded their wins on July 3 at the Meadows). The first is Sonnet Grace, who will compete in the first All-Stars division (Race 2). She is set to start in the middle of a seven-horse collection for trainer-driver Rod Allen. The Ron Burke-trained and Matt Kakaley-driven Fate Smiled is the other noted filly. She is set to contest Race 4.

The filly with the fastest clocking among all the divisions, Beautiful Sin, will start from the rail in Race 5 for trainer Jimmy Takter and driver Yannick Gingras. She has three winning Meadowlands lines as her career product to date (she dropped time each start: 1:57.2, 1:56.4, 1:56.2).

The races will be staged as Races 2 through 5 and 7.

Pocono’s Tuesday racing card will begin at 7:00 p.m.
