Nine three-year-old pacing fillies were entered this morning (Tuesday, July 28) for the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold elimination scheduled to be contested on Saturday, August 1 at Mohawk Racetrack
.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elim than can compete in the final, the elimination will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the OSS Gold elim for three-year-old pacing fillies scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at Mohawk is cancelled. The $40,000 purse for the Gold elim will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold final purse for the event of $170,000.
The Gold final will be held on Saturday, August 8 as scheduled and the post positions will be available on Saturday, August 1 when the final would normally have been drawn.
According to the new rule this year concerning the points for the Super Final, the 100 points from the cancelled elim will be distributed equally between the nine horses that entered the event.
