When was the last time you brought a new person to the races? Well, here is your chance to share the passion you feel for Canadian harness racing!
Register for the Bring A Friend National promotion and bring a friend or two, or more, to the races during the weekend of July 9-12.
The challenge is for everyone involved in the industry -- SC members, racing fans, commission licensees, trades people, etc. -- to bring a friend to the harness races on this weekend. The friends should be people who have never been to the harness races or haven’t been in the past year. This is an opportunity for each and every one of us to make a difference and not only promote harness racing but to take the time and show someone new the ropes. What better way for someone to learn about racing and betting than having that one on one time!
We’ve set up a centralized registration area so that we can track who’s taking part and to help gauge the number of guests for each track. When you register, you will be asked for your name, email, postal code, # of guests you are bringing and the track you will be visiting. We’ll also have a draw for all of the people who pre-register. One lucky person will win a $100 betting voucher or gift card for the racetrack of his/her choice, $50 gift card for our Fan Club Swag Store and a $50 TrackIT credit!
We are also going to have a couple of contests tied into the BAF promotion, in advance of the event and after with some fantastic prizes! Right now we have the Harness Racing Memories Contest which closes on June 15. The July Zoom contest theme will be “Friends at the Races”.

To ensure our guests get the VIP treatment and have an amazing experience, we will host our own guests and help them to understand what happens at the track. We can show them the basics in reading a program, making a bet, explain what happens in between the races, take them to the paddock if we have a horse racing, etc.
Our racetrack partners are going to provide us with activities, contests, draws and offers to enhance the experience. Some tracks will offer free programs, a free $2 bet, food and beverage discounts, draws for rides in the starting gate car, winner’s circle presentations, paddock tours, Meet the Drivers events and beginner handicapping workshops.
We are relying on you, the membership and industry participants to drive this event: promote this, invite your friends and bring them or meet them at the track. Let’s expose some new people to the sport and industry we all love, and share our passion for harness racing!
