Pepsi North America Cup excitement extends far beyond its host track of Mohawk. Fans at Kawartha Downs tomorrow night will be able to watch and wager on the special card from the Campbellville, Ont. racetrack. In addition to the $1 million North America Cup, the program includes a myriad of harness racing superstars in the Armbro Flight, Mohawk Gold Cup, North America Cup Consolation, Fan Hanover, Goodtimes, Roses Are Red and Preferred races.
The North America Cup is slated as Race 12 on the program with a 10:40 p.m. post time, and Kawartha Downs will keep the concession stand and bar open to accommodate fans who wish to stay and watch and wager on one of the most elite Standardbred races in North America.
The track will feature a special North America Cup contest where fans may select the horse they think will win the rich final. After the race is complete a name will be selected from the winning horse’s ballot box and the winner will take home a prize package of North America Cup and Kawartha Downs’ merchandise. Mohawk has generously shared some North America Cup swag with KD fans and it will be offered as prizes through trivia contests in the time leading up to the final.
Prior to the North America Cup, Kawartha offers a 10-race card with a 7:00 p.m. first race post time. New General Manager Orazio Valente will be barbequing hot dogs and giving them away (with a coupon from the program), there will also be draws and giveaways throughout the program including a special Dine With Dad promotion to celebrate Father’s Day.
