NYSS Pacers Invade Tioga Sunday

Three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for three-year-old pacing fillies will take centre stage at Tioga Downs on Sunday (June 3). Each division will race for a purse of $40,600.

In the first division, Im Trigger Happy (Scott Zeron) is the morning line favourite at 5-2. The three-year-old filly by Art Major is owned by Let It Ride Stables and trained by Ross Croghan. She is two-for-two this year with both wins coming at Pocono. She will be looking for career win number seven on Sunday.

The second morning line choice is Tell Me A Joke (Jim Morrill Jr.) at 3-1. She is a three-year-old filly by Art Major. She is owned by H. A. Taylor, J. S. Taylor and Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc., while trained by Gareth Dowse. Winless as a two-year-old, Tell Me A Joke is two-fo-four this season. She finished third at Saratoga in a leg of the NYSS ($59,100) last Sunday (May 27).

In the second division, the morning line favourite at 3-1 is the American Ideal three-year-old filly Presto Blue Chip (Drew Monti). She is owned by Howard and Michael Ouriel while trained by Jeffrey Smith. She has won three out of five in 2018, most recently finishing third at the Saratoga leg of the NYSS ($60,200) on Sunday.

The close second choice at 7-2 is Wisdom Tree (Scott Zeron). The sophomore filly by Betterthancheddar has won four straight including a NYSS ($59,100) victory on Sunday (May 27) at Saratoga. She is owned by Thomas Pollack with Jeffrey Cullipher and trained by Ed Hart.

The final division features the 2017 Dan Patch Award winner as freshman filly pacer of the year, Youaremycandygirl (Yannick Gingras). The morning line choice at 2-1 is owned by W. J. Donovan and trained by Ron Burke. The three-year-old filly by American Ideal tries to rebound after finishing sixth at the Saratoga leg of the NYSS ($59,100) last week. She put down blazing early fractions (:26.4, 53.3, 1:22.2) to start with but faded in the stretch to finish sixth.

Her main rival will be Kimberlee (Jim Marohn Jr.), who is part of an entry with Python Blue Chip (Matt Kakaley). The entry is rhe morning line second choice at 5-2. Kimberlee (Rock N Roll Heaven) is owned by Knutsson Trotting Inc. and Asa Sjoberg while trained by Ake Svanstedt. She's won five of seven this season.

First race post time for the 14-race card on Sunday (June 3) is 1:00 p.m.
