Fraser Downs Racetrack General Manager Chuck Keeling has announced the 2009-2010 season will feature

Saturday evening racing.

The 107 days of racing begin on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 and end on Saturday, June 26, 2010 with a schedule that includes 41 Saturday nights, 40 Friday nights, 22 Sunday afternoons, three Thursday nights and one Wednesday afternoon. The three Thursdays are all booked in October (15, 22, 29) while the sole Wednesday matinee date is November 11, traditionally set aside on Remembrance Day.

Evening cards throughout the season will start at 7:30 p.m. with the normal 1:15 p.m. post during day-time racing.

With the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games drawing spectators from all over the world during February and March in 2010, Fraser Downs will welcome international visitors over six weekends within that time frame. The Olympic Games take place Feb. 12-28 and the Paralympics dates are March 12-21.

The only break in the 2009-2010 Fraser Downs racing season comes during the weekend of May 21-22 in 2010 following the annual Cloverdale Rodeo and Country Fair that runs the previous weekend.
