The Ontario Horse Racing Industry Association has announced that Sue Leslie has been elected as their new chair and president

.

Leslie, who is currently on the board of OHRIA, is also the president of the Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association of Ontario. She takes over from Hugh Mitchell.

Mitchell was recently promoted to the position of chief executive officer of the Western Fair Association and feels that with his expanded duties he could not dedicate the time and energy needed at OHRIA. He has agreed to stay on as a board member of OHRIA.

OHRIA would like to thank Hugh Mitchell for his leadership at OHRIA and wish him well in his new endeavours.

OHRIA would like to congratulate and thank Leslie for accepting the board’s confidence to be their new leader. Leslie brings a wealth of knowledge and an unyielding passion for the horse industry to the position of president and chair of OHRIA.

OHRIA is the umbrella group for the horse racing industry in Ontario. It promotes all aspects of the industry as a vital part of Ontario’s lifestyle, heritage and agricultural economy and develops industry-wide positions and acts as advocate on these positions.
