Ross Brown Passes

Longtime harness racing industry participant Ross Brown of Newtonville, Ont. passed away on Wednesday, April 5 at the age of 82.

A former trainer and driver, Brown eventually transitioned solely into horse ownership. A notable performer raised by Brown is stakes winner and open class competitor Thebestofjoel.

Loving father of Marty (Tobin) and Shelley. Dear Poppa of Taylan (Tim), Mackenzie (Jordan), Chandler, Ashtyn, Rebecca (Kyle) and Courtney. Great-Poppa of Madeline. Cherished brother of Olive (Truman), Dorothy (Jim), the late Bernice (the late Fred), Margaret (the late Bill) and Marie. Stepfather to Josie Robinson (Jason Woodward). Ross was predeceased by his first wife Ina (d.1988) and Judith (d.2015). He will be missed by his extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Regency Manor, Port Hope, for their loving care and compassion.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division Street, Bowmanville from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to Sick Kids Toronto in Ross’ memory.
