Hoosier To Host WHHC Qualifier

Hoosier Park Racing & Casino is proud to host an on-site World Harness Handicapping Championship (WHHC) qualifier on Saturday, April 8. The top two finishers will not only earn a share of the $3,500 cash prize but also a seat into the 2017 World Harness Handicapping Championship set for Saturday, April 29, 2017. On that date, the top horseplayers in North America will compete for a guaranteed $50,000 prize pool in the BetAmerica WHHC Final at the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, NJ.

The entry fee into Hoosier Park’s World Harness Handicapping Championship qualifier is $50 and due upon registration on the day of the event. The entry fee will include dining, two complimentary cocktails, a race day program and tip sheet. Contestants will be limited to two entries per person. The contest will be capped at 200 entries.

The first place winner in Hoosier Park’s WHHC qualifier will receive $2,000 and a seat to the WHHC final. Second place will be awarded $1,000 and a seat to the WHHC final. The third place winner will take home $500. The seats to the World Harness Handicapping Championship are valued at $800, roundtrip airfare and two-night accommodations will also be provided to the winners.

“The World Harness Handicapping Championship is a premier handicapping event and we are very excited to offer two highly coveted opportunities to our racing fans at Hoosier Park,” said Hoosier Park’s Vice President and General Manager of Racing, Rick Moore. “While there will be keen competition for the top three prizes, the competition for pride and bragging rights will be just as keen.”

The format of the qualifying tournament at Hoosier Park will require contestants to make 10- $2 win and place wagers on 10 designated Hoosier Park contest races. All players will begin with a mythical bankroll of $40 and the bankroll may not be cashed in at the end of play. All of the official rules can be found by clicking here.
