Commission Rules On Three Appeals

On Tuesday, April 21, the Ontario Racing Commission released its rulings in regard to appeals from horsemen John Blancher, Ross Battin and Isaac Waxman.

John Blancher, trainer of the horse Sure As Shooting, had appealed against Ruling Number SB 44261, wherein ORC judges did not change the order of finish of Race 11 at The Raceway at Western Fair District on January 26, 2015. Ross Battin had appealed against Ruling Number SB 46419 wherein the horse, Youths Awesome, was suspended for 90 clear days for violation of Rules 11.10.01 (i) 2 and 20.01.01 (i) 2 of the Rules of Standardbred Racing, in the eighth race at The Raceway at Western Fair District on February 9, 2015. Isaac Waxman had appealed against Ruling Number SB 46509, which placed the horse, Bad Fox, second in Race 9 at Woodbine Racetrack on February 5, 2015. The Panel denied the appeal. A transcript with the panel’s oral Reasons for Decision can be accessed by clicking here.
