Notice Of Sex Change Required

With the Canadian Pari-Mutuel Association's announcement of testing for anabolic steroids, Standardbred Canada urges horse owners to file timely change of sex forms for their racehorses

.

On June 1, 2009, steroid testing will begin on a national scale. As horses and geldings each carry different levels of testosterone, different levels of testosterone will be allowed for intact male racehorses and geldings. Recently castrated geldings can still carry the elevated level of testosterone consistent with intact male horses for up to 30 days after castration.

SC encourages all horse owners to fill out and submit the change of sex form as soon as possible to provide the most accurate information possible.

The change of sex form is available by clicking here.
