Officials with Grand River Raceway have released some information in regard to training and qualifying at the track for the upcoming season of live racing.

Effective Thursday, April 27, the track at Grand River Raceway will be open for training each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon for the duration of the race season.

All horses must be vacated by 1:00 p.m. on training days.

Qualifiers will be conducted on Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. from May 24 through September 20, and it is important that horsepeople are aware that a Standardbred Canada field representative will be on hand to conduct business.

Standardbred Canada would like to remind all horsepeople that all memberships and eligibility fees need to be paid. Additionally, name changes need to be made before a horse ever qualifies. Coggins tests are required as set out in the rules in your racing jurisdiction.

Membership renewals and eligibility fees are two of many services that can be purchased online. To pay online, register with the SC website and sign into eShop by clicking the eShop button at the top of the homepage.

Complete information is available here.

The 2017 live harness racing season kicks off the first of 47 race nights on Friday, June 2 at 6:35 p.m.
