James Lunn Jr. Passes

Standardbred breeder/owner James Thomas Lunn Jr., 85, of Accomac, Va., passed away in Atlantic, Va., on April 7.

Born in Accomac on February 23, 1932, he was the son of the late James Thomas Lunn Sr. and Maggie Susan Justis Lunn.

A veteran of the United States Coast Guard, he was a member of Drummondtown United Methodist Church, as well as the following organizations: Central Lodge No. 300, in Onley, Va., Scottish Rite of Fremasonry, Eastern Shore Scottish Rite, Association of Khedive Shriners, Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Eastern Star Chapter 33, The American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose, The Elks Club, The Maryland-Delaware Racing Commission, Cloverleaf Standardbred Owners Association, and the New York State Gaming Commission.

Lunn was associated with a variety of business interests, and was owner/manager of a mobile home park.

He was a great lover of horses.

Lunn is survived by cousins, Ernestine Holston Lotz, Geralline Deuter, Eric Tatem, who was like a son to him, and also his cousin, Ben Justis. He is also survived by friend and companion Joyce Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna V.
