Jeffrey Langfelder Passes

Trot Insider has learned that breeder/owner Jeffrey Langfelder, 72, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 8.

Langfelder began his career in real estate while in his early 20s. He later became vice president of real estate for Home Depot during its early years and oversaw its initial stage of growth. He soon realized the need for regional brokerage for retailers and co-founded The Shopping Center Group in 1984. In 2010 he co-founded the Sandy Springs Farmers Market to connect the Sandy Springs community.

Langfelder's favourite thing to do was watch his children play baseball and softball and was active in both. His passions include Atlanta Braves baseball, where he held season tickets for over 30 years, the Temple Sinai Brotherhood, where he was past president, and Standardbred horse racing, which he shared with his friends and family.

Langfelder was a loving husband, father and uncle. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, of 26 years; son, Evan; and daughter, Rebecca, along with five nephews, four nieces and
parents-in-law.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Weinstein Hospice or Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (cholangiocarcinoma.org). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at Temple Sinai. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
