Fire, Emergency Rescue Course Details

Equine Guelph will be presenting fire prevention and emergency rescue training courses with Dr. Rebecca Gimenez of TLAER, Inc. at Mohawk Racetrack later this month.

The ‘Fire Prevention and Emergency Rescue Training for the Horse Racing Industry’ course will take place on Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The primary audience for the course is individuals in the racing industry generally, including racetrack personnel (especially security, facility managers and track maintenance staff), training facility managers, trainers, grooms, veterinarians, vet techs, and first responders. The workshop fee is $125 plus HST and includes lunch.

Additionally, Dr. Gimenez will be the special guest speaker at the ‘Large Animal Rescue Operational Rescue Course,’ presented by Grey Highlands and Meaford Fire Departments and Equine Guelph. The course will take place at the Meaford Fire Department Training Centre, located in Meaford, Ont., on Friday, April 28 (in the evening) and on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30. Participants must be active firefighters. The workshop fee is $275 plus HST and will include lunch.
