Live harness racing will return to the Meadowlands Racetrack this Friday night (March 16) and 11 dashes will be on the menu.
The featured dash (Race 2) is a conditioned event for trotters that will see a field of seven participants vie for a purse of $16,000. It's a very even group, indicated by the tight morning line in which Montalbano Bi has been listed as the slight 5-2 choice.
Montalbano Bi has been as regular as clockwork for owner Joel Kahan. The gelding has flashed his finest form over the course of his past two races, as he has recorded a win and a second-place effort. He is set to start from Post 1 for driver Jimmy Marohn Jr. and trainer Patti Harmon.
This coming weekend will bring another sign that spring is nigh, as Andrew McCarthy is back from his winter travels. The popular young Australian reinsman has caught a full slate of drives for his return over St Patrick's Day weekend.
Celebrate the favourite of all Irish holidays at the Meadowlands with all the corned beef, cabbage and green beer you can consume via the Pink buffet.
The Meadowlands will also have all the NCAA Basketball Tournament action available on the giant 20-foot screens in Victory Sports Bar.
