David Devine Passes

Longtime horseman David K. Devine of Mount Forest, Ont. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15 at Palmerston Hospital in his 86th year.

Devine served as a director of the Ontario Harness Horse Association for several years and will be remembered for racing in southwestern Ontario and his love for the sport.

Beloved husband of Robin O’Toole Devine. Dear father of Michael Devine (Janis), Margaret Freij (Anders), Patricia Guerin (Fred), Kathleen Ratford (Fred), David Devine Jr. (Julie), Stephen Devine (Krista), Colleen O’Toole and Keegan O’Toole. Special grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of Connie Giesler and Hazel Giesler. Predeceased by his son Bobby Devine, one sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at St. Mary's of the Purification Parish, Mount Forest, Ont., with a mass of Christian burial to follow at 2 p.m. A celebration of David’s life will take place at the Hespeler Legion (Cambridge) on April 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
