Ladys Dude To Make 2017 Debut

On Friday night, the Meadowlands Racetrack will present an 11-race program conducted under spring-like conditions with temperatures in the 60s all weekend.

Among the evening's racing highlights are the weekly featured trot, which has been carded as Race 1. Ladys Dude, another veteran Ron Burke trotter, will make his 2017 debut in the dash. The six-year-old Ohio bred won the final of his home state sires stakes program at age three and four and now plies his trade against the best of the east. Ladys Dude recorded a 1:52.2 win over the Meadowlands last fall and would eclipse the $400,000 mark in career earnings with another on Friday. Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi and Johnny Yoder pay the bills and collect the cheques on the ‘Dude,’ while Joe Bongiorno will do the driving.

The GSY guys are in the midst of short series for pacers and they will assemble for Friday's fifth race, which will be led by returning winner Seafood Mike, who stormed by the field from well back for driver Tony Beltrami to get the 1:55.3 win last week. Seafood Mike will get underway from Post 10 on Friday for trainer Chris Marino and owner Robert Weinstein.

David Glasser claimed Keystone I Wish for the series and turned her over to trainer John Butenschoen. She will debut for the pair from Post 7 in Friday's race. Glasser is a key cog in the GSY administration and an enthusiastic participant in any and every capacity.

In the grandstand you can ‘Paint Like A Pro’ with noted artist Desiree Mills in the gallery and take advantage of cash and concession prizes via the ‘Tote Machine Payout’ on the self service terminals.
