Trot Insider has learned that Standardbred horseman Donald George Kennedy, of Hanover, Ont., passed away at his home on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the age of 62.
Donald, who was born in Kincardine, Ont. on September 2, 1957, is survived by his father Howard Kennedy (Isabel) of Brussels. Brother of Murray (Linda) Kennedy of Paisley, Gordon Kennedy and John (Karen) Kennedy, both of Hanover. Special uncle of Bradley Kennedy, Tanya Skinner, Caitlin Kennedy and Ali Kennedy. Predeceased by his mother Gail (nee Fuller) and brother Roy Kennedy.
Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 10 a.m. until time of a Funeral Service at 11 am. Pastor Lyndsay McGregor officiating. Interment in Hanover Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Mental Health would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
He had a great passion for harness racing, for many years he trained and drove his own horses at harness racing tracks and fairs all over Ontario. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
