After standing his first four seasons in Ohio at Sugar Valley Farms, My MVP will be relocated to Winbak Farm of Ontario. His stud fee has been set for the 2019 season at $4,000.

In making the announcement, Winbak owner Joe Thomson said he welcomes the son of Cantab Hall, and added that he brings an amazing set of accomplishments to the Canadian program, despite being a young stallion with only two crops of racing age.

“My MVP takes the guesswork out of breeding to an unknown commodity," Thomson said. "Despite him being relatively young, he’s already proven his ability to produce successful trotters at the highest level of stakes racing, and in sire stakes as well.

“I like that he’s a Cantab Hall, as he crosses well with so many Ontario-owned mares. I plan to breed a significant number to him myself next year.”

The sire of this year’s Goodtimes and Stanley Dancer Memorial winner Wolfgang 3,1:51.2 ($577,310), My MVP’s first crop has made him far and away Ohio’s number one sire of three-year-olds in average earnings per foal, percentage of 1:55 trotters, and percentage of stakes winners. He has sired 15 stakes-winning or stakes-placed three-year-olds this year from just 25 starters.

In addition to Wolfgang, his three-year-olds of this past season included Ohio Sire Stakes and Ohio Breeders Championship winner Rising MVP 3,1:54.4h ($167,952) and multiple OSS winners Spunky Bottom Girl 3,1:54.2h ($167,725) and Non Smoker 3,1:54f ($111,138).

The major shareholder in My MVP is Versailles, KY-based Brittany Farms. Brittany manager Art Zubrod said he thanks Sugar Valley Farm manager Joe McLead for his help in getting the young stallion’s career off the ground.

“We really like what we’ve seen from his early crops,” Zubrod said. “My MVP sires horses that are very long, clean-gaited and big-striding. I expect them to move up considerably when they start racing over Mohawk’s 7/8-mile track.”
