Trot Insider has been informed that the program of live racing that had been scheduled for this coming Sunday (Jan. 12) at Century Mile has been cancelled.
Officials with the Alberta Standardbred Horse Association have told Trot Insider that after consultation with the Horse Racing Alberta vet, Century Mile and ASHA, the decision has been made to officially cancel the Sunday, January 12 race card due to the forecast of extreme cold weather conditions.
All of the Alberta parties would like to thank the horsepeople for their understanding in considering animal welfare.
