Roy O’Hagan Passes

Roy O’Hagan of Hanover, Ont. passed away at the London Health Sciences Centre on Sunday, January 22 at the age of 83.

O’Hagan trained, raced, bought and sold horses for over 50 years. He spent many winters training yearlings in Florida.

His proudest moment was seeing one of his trainees, Rock N Roll Heaven, go on to become 2010 Horse of the Year. He shared many special memories with his spouse, Marlene, and son, Mike, as they followed the stallion’s illustrious career.

Roy is survived by his loving partner, Marlene Schmidt; his children, Michael (Sheila) of Chepstow, Colleen (Tony) Regier of Chepstow, Pat (Anne) of Berkley, Christine (Ted) Zettel of Chepstow; nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

At Roy’s request, there will be no funeral or visitation. Cremation has taken place.
