A venue switch certainly got the attention of trotter Some Strike It Hot, who snapped out of an 0-for-17 start to the season by turning in a 1:57.1 upset in Tuesday's $13,000 Preferred Trot at Georgian Downs.

The four-year-old son of Striking Sahbra, who toiled in a variety of conditioned events on the WEG circuit in recent weeks, rallied in deep stretch to win by three-quarters of a length over a heavily favoured runner-up.

Lesterstrikesagain blasted to the lead and laid down splits of :27.4, :57 and 1:26.2 before being gobbled up by Meadowview Matty, who was sent off as the 1-2 choice in the eight-horse field. Some Strike It Hot angled out to follow that rival in the late stages of the mile.

The Ben Baillargeon-trained Some Strike It Hot, in rein to Paul MacKenzie, edged past Meadowview Matty in the final strides en route to pulling off the 13-1 upset. Unleashed Fury, who also hails from the stable of trainer Baillargeon, was third.

Murray Kennedy, Ryan Goodwin, Kenneth McCafferty and Michael O'Leary share ownership on the four-year-old son of Striking Sahbra, who now boasts $68,965 in lifetime earnings.
