Seven two-year-old colt pacers were entered today for the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold eliminations scheduled to be contested Saturday, October 4 at Kawartha Downs.
The OSS rules state that if there are not more horses entered in the elimination than can compete in the final, the elimination will be cancelled and all horses will be considered declared directly into the final to be held the following week.
Therefore, the Gold elimination for two-year-old colt pacers scheduled for October 4 at Kawartha is cancelled. The $40,000 purse for the Gold elimination, as well as the $20,000 purse for the consolation, will be added to the regular purse for the final, making a total Gold final purse for this event of $180,000.
The Gold final will be held on Saturday, October 11, as scheduled, and the post positions will be available on Saturday, October 4, the day the final would normally have been drawn.
