'Ocean Mist' Dominates In Distinction

A pair of $15,400 Distinction divisions for three-year-old trotting fillies highlighted the Saturday afternoon card at Hippodrome Gatineau and Ocean Mist Dynasty put forth a dynamic performance in the fastest split romping to a 12 length victory.

Driven by Mario Lachance, the daughter of Angus Hall powered off the gate from Post 1. With a two length lead on the field, the Paulo Justras trainee posted fractions of 29.4, 1:01.1 and 1:31 before sprinting home in :29.4 for the win in 2:00.4.

Christy Rae (Jacques Hebert) got up for second and SOS Master Plan (Yves Filion) was third.

Ocean Mist Dynasty picked up her second win of the season boosting her bankroll to $42,777 for owner Gaetan Bono of Laval, Que.

In the first division, Altesse also dominated her rivals with a front-end mission in rein to Gilles Gendron. The Monte Hall miss stopped the clock in 2:03.3. Galere (Raymond Gingras) finished one length back in second and post time favourite Victorys Davi (Jacques Hebert) rounded out the top three.

Unraced at two, Altesse sports a record of four wins, one second and three thirds in 10 starts. Her purse earnings total $38,225 for Ecurie Provoquante of Mirabel, Que.
