New York Governor David Paterson today signed a bill which should lead the way for the construction of the Concord development, the proposed entertainment destination and future home of the new Monticello Raceway.

The new legislation calls for Louis Cappelli's Concord Associates and Empire Resorts to retain 75 per cent of the profits from the video lottery terminals which are to be installed.

"The project will have impact on Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties," Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, who sponsored the bill, was quoted as saying in an article on midhudsonnews.com.

"We are going to put a lot of people to work on the project."
