ATSS Action At Northside

Northside Downs was the home to Atlantic Sires Stakes action on Friday as two-year-old pacing fillies went to battle on the 10-race card.

There were two $9,680 “A” divisions contested.

Elleofnxample doubled up in the first split for the team of driver Ken MacDonald and trainer Clare MacDonald. The N Xample – Farline Hanover filly did all the roadwork, setting stanzas of :29.2, 1:01.2 and 1:32.2 en route to a length triumph in 2:02.1.

P H Quick Chick (Todd Trites) completed the top two while N Xample Deal (Greg Bailey) finished third.

Elleofnxample is three-for-four to start her career with earnings of $11,241 for partners Clare MacDonald, Jane Haley, Morah Kerr, and Phonsie Maceachern.

In the second division, Semjac Legacy was a first-over winner for trainer/driver Darren Crowe. Sitting fourth for a first half mile in :28.4 and 1:00.2, the Western Paradise – Island Zazzle filly moved to the outside and cleared to the lead past the 1:29.4 third marker, and never looked back, scoring by a length and three quarters in a lifetime best 2:00.1.

Oceanview Kitty (Brian MacPhee) followed Semjac Legacy’s cover into second and R Es Mary (Allan Smith) rounded out the top three.

Murray Wayne Smith and Iola Crowe co-own Semjac Legacy, who is three-for-five and has purses of $6,606.

In the lone $2,500 “B” tilt, Artistic Putnam recovered from a break at the quarter to post a three and a quarter-length victory in 2:04 for driver Roddy Hurley. The Southwind Balsam – Marellen Hanover filly, who is trained by Ronald Seymour, is two-for-three in her young career with earnings of $1,475 for Seymour and partner Fabian Morgan.
