Female Announcer Makes History

Published: September 9, 2013 03:40 pm EDT

History was made this past weekend when a female announcer called an entire card of thoroughbred racing at Canterbury Park in Minnesota.

As an article by CBS Minnesota explains, Angela Hermann has been hooked on horse racing since the age of 11 and the experience Saturday was “a dream come true.”

Hermann, who is currently a racing analyst at Canterbury, was filling in for regular announcer Paul Allen, who was in Michigan on Saturday calling the NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.
