Im Trigger Happy Strong At Philly

Im Trigger Happy, happy to not have to face recent foes Youaremycandygirl and Kissin In The Sand in the $17,000 distaff featured pace at Harrah’s Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 5), worked her way to the front early and scored impressively in 1:51.4.

Driver Corey Callahan, finishing a consecutive driving double, sent the Art Major sophomore filly to the point before the :27 quarter, then maintained command past the middle poles of :55.3 and 1:23.4. In the stretch, second choice Big City Betty tried to rally from the pocket, but Im Trigger Happy still had a :28 last quarter in her to win by three-quarters of a length for trainer Ross Croghan and the Let It Ride Stables Inc.

Driver Eric Carlson, had to settle for second in the feature with Big City Better, but earlier had put together a very memorable consecutive double of his own, guiding Bold Goddess to her maiden win at a win price of $116.20, and then coming right back with another longest shot on the board, Rentier, who paid $81.00 for a two-dollar win ticket.
