Instant Racing Off NE Ballot

It has been reported that the Nebraska Supreme Court has ruled that the upcoming November ballot will not feature a question asking if the state constitution should be amended to allow Instant Racing, also known as Historical Racing, to be allowed at racetracks in the state.

As an article by The Lincoln Journal Star explains, the court ruled on Friday (September 5) that the question will not appear on the ballot.

If the court had ruled in favour of allowing the question on the ballot, it would have allowed state residents to vote on the measure which could have led to Instant Racing machine being installed at racetracks to help support the racing industry in the state.

The report explains that the court ruled that the ballot measure violated the state constitution because it contains more than one question for voters to decide.
