After taking home top honours in the opening round of Hoosier Park’s inaugural Champion Driver Series earlier in the season, LeWayne Miller is set to defend his title on Saturday, September 27 at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino during the second and final round of the 2014 Champion Driver Series.

Miller, a 27-year-old Indiana native, accumulated a total of 47 points after the five races of the opening challenge and was crowned the winner, walking away with the $5,000 prize. Now, he will lead the talented group of 10 drivers into Saturday night’s card and has his sights set on the grand prize.

The first of its kind, the 2014 Champion Driver Series will pit the top 1 drivers at Hoosier Park Racing & Casino against one another in a five-race challenge with the champion driver cruising away in the grand prize, a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

“I feel good about my chances going into it,” Miller said modestly. “Like always, I am going to need some luck and my horses to race well but I am looking forward to it. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Winning the first round was awesome, but winning the second round and the car would really be something.”

With their points from the first challenge round carrying over to the final challenge round, Miller will lead the top eight finishers from round one into round two followed closely by Sam Widger and Andy Shetler.

Peter Wrenn and Ricky Macomber Jr. rounded out the final two positions as determined by the official Hoosier Park standings at the conclusion of the live racing card that was held on Saturday, September 20.

The drivers, listed by position in the standings of the challenge, are as follows: LeWayne Miller (47 points), Sam Widger (38), Andy Shetler (37.5), Brad Hanners (34), Ross Leonard (33), Trace Tetrick (26.5), Mike Peterson (25), Ed Hensley (24) Ricky Macomber Jr. (22) and Peter Wrenn (0).

The challenge races will be five consecutive races (Races 6-10) and compliment the 14-race card slated for Saturday, September 27. After the dust settles and the points have been tallied from each of the five races, one driver will be driving away in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

“It would be great, I’ve never driven something that nice,” Miller said with a smile. “It’s a convertible too so if I do win it, I will definitely be taking a trip to Florida.”

As an added bonus, racing fans will also have an opportunity to win big as part of the 2014 Champion Driver Series with $10,000 up for grabs. Guests can enter at any rewards kiosk at Hoosier Park from 10 a.m. to 9:59 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 to enter the contest. At approximately 10:15 p.m., one winner will take home $5,000 cash and five lucky guests will win $1,000 each.
