Tioga Open To American Delight N

American Delight N and driver Braxten Boyd won the featured $9,000 Fillies & Mares Open II Pace at Tioga Downs on Friday, Sept. 24.

American Delight N ($4.10) led the way through fractions of :27.2, :56.3 and 1:25. No Where To Hide (Mike Simons) was the first to make a move going first-over heading to the final turn. As they made the turn for home, No Where To Hide kept coming as Shecouldbegood N (Mike Merton) came flying three-wide. However, American Delight N dug in and won in 1:53 flat. Shecouldbegood N finished second as Vicious Circle (Wally Hennessey) took third money.

American Delight N is a six-year-old mare by Bettors Delight. She is owned by Joel Warner and trainer Mike Deters. The win was her fifth of the season from 13 starts and she now has 15 career victories.

Boyd drove three winners on the card and Patti Harmon trained three winners. Boyd also drove Another Beach Day ($4.30) and Gemalous ($5.70). Harmon got her wins with Festive Joe ($6.40), MV OK Palacio BR ($7.80) and Nancy Bar ($3.80).

Longtime fan favourite Aruba Vacation (Joe Chindano) won in his final start at Tioga. The 14-year-old gelding by Dream Vacation is owned and trained by Guy Howard. He won for the 47th time in his career has earned nearly $650,000 lifetime.

Live racing resumes at Tioga on Saturday, Sept. 25. It is closing night for 2021 with a 10-race card starting at 6:15 p.m.
