It has been announced that two of Ontario’s top drivers will make the trek down to Delaware, Ohio this week to battle in the Little Brown Jug, but only one of them will be making the trek.
Officials with the Jug announced on Tuesday (September 22 ) that Trevor Henry will be making the trip to Ohio for the 70th edition of the Little Brown Jug, which will be presented by Fazoli’s.
Waples is listed to drive Split The House, who was recently sold, but Trot Insider learned Tuesday afternoon that Tim Tetrick will drive Split The House for trainer Chris Oakes.
Henry will make his Little Brown Jug driving debut on Thursday with Rockin In Heaven. Both of the horses have drawn into the first opening-heat elimination.
As for other driver changes, Jug officials have announced that Corey Callahan will drive Arque Hanover from Post 6 in the second of the opening-heat eliminations. Also, Matt Kakaley has gotten the call on the Ron Burke-trained Paparazzi Hanover.
The Jug’s $324,960 second heat will feature the first four finishers from each of the opening-heat eliminations. If an opening-heat winner does not go on to win the second heat, there will be $135,400 race-off between the three elimination winners.
