Windsong Leo ($8.40) made a power move on the backside en route to victory for trainer/driver Dan O'Brian in the featured $11,000 Preferred 2 Pace on Sunday night at Flamboro Downs.

Thorn In Your Side (Travis Henry) and Boomboom Ballykeel (Alfie Carroll) traded turns on the lead early on through opening panels of :27.1 and :57.2 while Windsong Leo moved up on the cover of Lets Wait And See (Colin Kelly) after getting away near the back of the eight-horse field. Windsong Leo then swept three-wide to take command down the backstretch approaching three-quarters in 1:25.1 and opened up two and a half lengths score the victory in a season's best 1:52.3. Even-money favourite Boomboom Ballykeel settled for second and Senior Market (Mike Whelan) finished third.

Windsong Leo notched his third win of the season and first back in Ontario since taking the James 'Roach' MacGregor Memorial in last-to-first fashion at Charlottetown Driving Park during Old Home Week. The five-year-old son of Jeremes Jet is a career winner of 13 races and over $135,000 for owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B.

Jump Jive And Jam ($11.40) inherited the victory in the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap Pace after Buttermilk Hanover, who was first across the line, was set back to fourth by the judges for causing interference when taking the lead from Topville Cheetah at the third quarter mark. Colin Kelly drove Jump Jive And Jam, who completed the mile in 1:54.1, for trainer Bill Budd and owners John Mehlenbacher and Maple Leaf Racing.

In the $7,500 Preferred 3 Trot, Escuela ($11.70) stormed home from the outer flow to score her 30th career win in 1:57 for Ashleigh and Ed Hensley.
