Pouliot Scores Rideau Training Triple

Trainer Stephane Pouliot enjoyed a productive evening at the races on Sunday as his stable was the only one to send out multiple winners on the 12-race card at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

Pouliot pulled off a 15-1 upset in the opener, winning with trotter Guard Dog ($33.10), the longest shot on the board. He also won the third race with pacing mare Windsong Experanza ($2.90) and the ninth dash with trotting mare Out Of The Hat ($4).

The Ottawa horseman drove all three of his winners and was back in the 10th race for a driving victory aboard the Ron Charette-trained sophomore pacer Four Staces ($4.50).

The race for the 2014 Rideau training title just got closer as Gary McDonald leads with 33 wins with John MacMillan sitting second with 31 and Pouliot third with a career-high 30 victories after Sunday's card.
