All Out Henry turned in a career-best effort with Doug Brown in the bike to take top honours in the $8,500 Preferred 3 Trot on Friday night (Aug. 3) at Grand River Raceway.

All Out Henry wore down the front-striding favourite Warrawee Shipshape and held off the late-closing Scene A Magician for the 1:57.2 victory.

Leaving from the inside post, 3-5 bettors' choice Warrawee Shipshape retook the lead past the :28 quarter then had to contend with All Out Henry, who tipped first-up from third off the turn towards the :58 half-mile mark. All Out Henry confronted the popular pacesetter and they raced by three-quarters in 1:27 while gaining some separation on the rest of the field. Their battle continued down the stretch and ended with All Out Henry gaining the upper hand and Scene A Magician closing off cover to edge out Warrawee Shipshape for the runner-up role a half length behind.

Pam Forgie owns and trains the six-year-old Cornaro Dasolo gelding, who has hit the board in 13 of his 22 starts this year. The career-best mile was his fourth win of the year and 14th lifetime, putting his earnings over the $100,000 mark.

All Out Henry was the 7-1 third wagering choice and paid $16.90 for a $2 Win ticket.
