Driver James MacDonald earned star of the card honours at Georgian Downs on Saturday night as he reined home five winners during the 12-race program.
MacDonald earned his first victory of the night in the fourth race aboard the Rene Allard-trained Smuggler Hall ($9.90) and then put together a four-race win streak beginning in the eighth dash. He won with Grinfrom C To C ($4.10) for trainer Shawn Irvin, Winbak Whiplash ($8) for Leslie Joyce, Caries Credit ($6.30) for Jacques Sauve, and Panda Bear ($18.70) for Carmen Auciello.
The 26-year-old resident of Guelph, Ont., who has earned 201 victories in the sulky this year, is in the midst of his second consecutive million dollar season. He has won 540 times in his career while banking over $4.5 million in purse earnings.
