If you like doughnuts, then the place to hang out on Friday morning is the barn of trainer Tony Alagna.

It’s long been a racing tradition to buy doughnuts when you win a race – so by our math it means Team Alagna will be on the hook for at least three boxes of the decadent, doughy treats to First Line Training Centre.

Alagna sent out three starters, and all three of them found their way to victory lane at the Campbellville oval during Thursday’s 10-race card.

Signal Hill broke his maiden to get things rolling for trainer Alagna and driver Randy Waples. The son of Muscle Hill-Special Appeal, who was a $250,000 purchase from last year’s Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, turned a two-hole trip into a 1:58.3 victory over Majestic Streak and Kendras Coco.

The colt is owned by Brittany Farms, David Mc Duffee, Marvin Katz and Adriano Sorella.

Vintage Babe is now 2-for-2 this season thanks to her 1:54.2 score in Race 3 for Alagna and Waples. The three-year-old daughter of Vintage Master rallied to win by a half-length margin over Southwind Ion, with Charming Hill finishing third.

Alagna Racing LLC and Jodi Siamis share ownership on the three-time winner who bumped her bankroll to $22,500 with the win.

Winter Harbor also made it back-to-back wins, and in doing so he completed the hat trick for Alagna and Waples. The three-year-old son of Muscle Hill-Spectacular Bay came first-over and wore down Radiant Beam to win in 1:56.1. Windsun Missile was third.

Brittany Farms, John Cancelliere, Little E LLC and Winter Harbor Partners own the colt who is now a three-time winner.

Waples was not the only driver to win three races Thursday, as James MacDonald scored a hat-trick on a day he won’t soon forget.

Earlier on Thursday, MacDonald and his wife Jenna welcomed their first child into the world and that evening the new Dad put in a strong night at the office. He won two of the first four races and completed the hat-trick in the ninth-race with 29-1 longshot Amoureuse Hanover.

MacDonald now has 80 wins this season at Mohawk and sits fourth in WEG's driver standings.
