Osprey Impact Bounces Back

It was a night of front end redemption for Osprey Impact in the Thursday evening Open trot at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Walter Cheverie sent the six-year-old daughter of Federal Flex to the front from the word ‘go’ and was on top at every call in the $1,850 Open trot in 1:59.3. Paul Larrabee of Belle River owns and trains Osprey Impact as she visited the winner's circle for the 20th time in her career. Freddie was second for driver Marc Campbell while newcomer Kennel Buddy with third for driver David Dowling.

Front end tactics remained the norm as Likely To Win won the top pace of the night in the race 12 finale for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Melissa Rennie and Nova Scotia owners Blenise Young and Lester Campbell along with Jeffrey Campbell of Alberta. Time of the mile was 1:56.2 with Eagle Jolt (Driven by Campbell) second and Jeb (Jason Hughes) third.

Driver Ken Murphy had a triple on the card winning with Prettylitljimstone in 2:03.1 for trainer Robert Phillips of Pinette, Talk Of Windemere in 2:03.1 for trainer John Pineau of Hunter River and Dusty Lane Jacob in 2:00.4 for Cindy MacDonald of Montague.

Marc Campbell had two winners on the program as he extended his Red Shores Charlottetown driving lead with 88 wins on the year compared to Jason Hughes in second place with 50 winners.

Live racing continues on P.E.I. with card at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Friday evening at 7 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. while Red Shore Charlottetown continues its regular schedule with an 11-dash card Saturday at 6 p.m.
